Parent Support and Mentoring

Unlocking Extraordinary in Every Child

Elevating the Art of Parenting

Raising children can be an enriching experience but comes with its fair share of challenges. From a behavioural standpoint, parents often struggle to navigate a child’s development’s complex and ever-changing landscape, especially if your child is neurodivergent one. Once manageable behaviours can suddenly become disruptive, requiring parents to adapt their strategies on the fly. Issues like tantrums, defiance, and poor impulse control can test the patience of even the most experienced caregivers. Effective behaviour management is crucial, but it demands a deep understanding of child psychology and a willingness to experiment with different techniques until the right approach is found.

My approach

As a psychologist and a therapist, I understand the unique joys and challenges that come with raising children. With over a decade of experience working with families, I’ve developed a deep well of wisdom and practical strategies to help parents navigate the ever-changing landscape of modern parenting.

My approach is grounded in a holistic, strengths-based philosophy. Rather than focusing solely on “fixing” problems, I work collaboratively with parents to uncover their inherent resilience, cultivate their confidence, and empower them to become the best version of themselves. Through a blend of coaching, counselling, and educational resources, I provide the guidance, accountability, and emotional support that parents need to thrive.

Whether you’re a new mom struggling with the transition to parenthood, a dad navigating work-life balance, or a family facing a major life change, I’m here to walk alongside you. Together, we’ll explore effective communication techniques, establish healthy routines, manage stress and anxiety, and deepen your connection with your child.

My ultimate goal is to help you rediscover the joy in parenting and create a nurturing, harmonious home environment where your whole family can flourish. With compassion, expertise, and a dash of humour, I’ll empower you to overcome challenges, embrace your unique parenting style, and enjoy the richness of this profound journey.

If you’re ready to unlock your full potential as a parent and cultivate a deeply fulfilling family life, I would be honoured to partner with you. Schedule a discovery call today, and let’s work together to craft the supportive, enriching parenting experience you and your loved ones deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions?

At the heart of my approach is a deep commitment to provide comprehensive, holistic support to both parents and their children. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, I aim to address the complex, interconnected needs of the whole person – physical, emotional, mental, and social. This multidimensional approach recognises that challenges faced by parents or children are rarely isolated issues, but rather the result of intricate webs of factors. Whether working with parents one-on-one or facilitating parent-child sessions, this holistic philosophy ensures that every aspect of the family’s well-being is nurtured and supported.

Yes, I have. I also have a firsthand experience in raising a child with Autism and ADHD.

I have MSc in Mental Health Psychology, BSc in Holistic Health Science, certifications in Counselling, Life Coaching, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy

No, I currently don’t.

Parental influence is critical during childhood development. Children under 14 are heavily influenced by their parents and the family environment. By working closely with the parents, I can help ensure the child receives the nurturing, structure, and support they need during these formative years and beyond.

Also, family-based interventions are more impactful. Addressing challenges within the context of the entire family system, rather than just the individual child, can lead to more sustainable, holistic improvements. Parents can learn effective parenting strategies and make changes that positively impact the child’s development.

Around age 14, as children enter adolescence, their need for independence and autonomy increases. This is an opportune time for the me as a therapist to begin working more directly with the child as an individual. Teenagers are developing stronger critical thinking skills and are more capable of engaging actively in their own therapeutic process.

Yes, I do. The reduced rate is £30 per session. Please contact me for the reduced rate session availability.

Amazing work (Google review)
I have been a client of Ruta’s for over two years now. She has helped me in more ways I thought would even be possible! She really is amazing at what she does. Having a child when you’re not feeling your best can be really hard. Ruta has helped me navigate being a parent in a variety of ways. Examples include offering advice on how to communicate in the best way with your child, particularly if there are challenging moments. She has opened my mind into understanding children’s emotions and child development. We’ve also focused a lot on aspects such as fostering a healthy parent - child relationship through techniques like positive reinforcement and activities that can be enjoyed by both parent and child yet also implementing healthy and stable boundaries. Great co-parent techniques, structure and discipline have also been an area we’ve touched. I would highly recommend Ruta and her amazing work x

Very helpful (Google review)
I have had the pleasure of working with Ruta for over three years. Ruta’s counselling and life coaching has been very helpful taking me from being disconnected with my children to finding a secure and happy connection with them. Ruta’s understanding and explanation of how successful parenting can be achieved has been very helpful. We all try to do our best for our children and with Ruta’s counselling I feel like I have become a better parent. This in itself helps me to feel more secure and calm in myself which I’m sure is transmitted to my children improving our relationship and connection. It has taken time for me to get to this place but as the old cliche states “ nothing worth doing is easy” I would like to thank her for all her work and the patience she has shown to take me and my family to the place we are now in. Thanks. Dave.

Exceptional guidance
Ruta has been exceptional when it has come to giving guidance on how to build a stronger bond with my children. She doesn’t tell you all the answers because she knows they are within you already - Deep down, who really knows your own child better than you! She helps unlock that door, that for many difference reasons you may be struggling to open. She provides you tools to do as a family that are fun but effective and I have seen and felt such a huge shift in my relationship with my children.
